Joaquim Chissano International Conference Center
Maputo, Mozambique

Theme

Analytical Chemistry for the Environment, Health and Water

SEANAC

The African Network of Analytical Chemists was founded as the Southern and Eastern Network of Analytical Chemists in February 2002 during a workshop funded by Sida (Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency), held in Gaborone, Botswana.

This workshop was attended by delegates representing 13 universities from 11 African countries. This network has since been joined by Analytical Chemsits from all over the continent.

SEANAC has three main objectives;

  • to promote analytical chemistry in the region through collaboration, research, research training, teaching and information sharing
  • to facilitate inventory, access, operation, maintenance and repair of analytical equipment
  • to collaborate with organizations with similar aims.

Conference

The fourth SEANAC conference will be hosted in Mozambique in collaboration with the Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM) and the Academy of Sciences of Mozambique (ACM). The organisers extend an invitation to academics and researchers both regionally and internationally to attend and present at this conference.

Contributions to this conference will demonstrate the application of Analytical Chemistry in several fields including water, health and the environment. The conference will consist of plenary sessions, oral and poster sessions and exhibitions. A two-day pre-conference workshop for students and young scientists will be held prior to the conference.

Call For Abstracts

Abstracts for oral and poster presentations are invited in all areas of Analytical Chemistry. Papers addressing aspects of health, water and the environment are encouraged. Abstracts should be prepared preferably in microsoft word in single spacing layout, times new roman, font 12 and should not exceed 300 words.

All abstracts should be submitted to the conference organisers by e-mail seanac@uem.mz, seanac@tdm.mz, seanac@seanac.org not later than 30th March 2012.
